Zombies, Plans and the CDC Cover-Up...

Well it isn't news to anyone that there are people in this country gnawing on one another like animals. But what really bothers me is the response we're getting from the CDC.
Clearly there is something going on, but when will the let the public know that there is a serious problem and to be on the look out. I watch television more than most and recently I've been seeing these commercials from the CDC that have me asking a lot of questions. I'm going to assume their for the zombie apocalypse their keeping to themselves at this time. There is one with a man in a wheelchair and his wife and daughter are getting ready to leave and he is asking questions about items he will need to leave their home due to an emergency and the wife responds with "it's in the emergency kit!". The CDC is telling people to have an emergency kit. At the end it just says to have a kit and be prepared, but it doesn't say for what. Now, to me this means that the CDC doesn't want the deaths of people in the apocalypse to be on their hands for not giving enough notice or for not being able to contain and stop it, but they also aren't willing to come forward and say "Zombies DO exist! Get your fucking guns!"
If you asked me a few years ago if zombies would ever walk the Earth, especially in this lifetime, I would have laughed at you and said never. But now, it's time to get serious about this shit! They may not be zombies in the traditional way where they get bit, they die they come back to life and eat the flesh of the living, but zombies have arrived. This is completely insane.
Everyone should be prepared even if you think that everything I believe is impossible. Even if you think this could never happen, you should do yourself a favor and spend ten minutes just imagining a scenario where zombies attack and how you would go about handling the situation. Figure out what you would pack, where you could go, if you would meet up with family or friends, and where you could get your supplies. It's not a bad idea to have a plan for any emergency, but as we see more and more attacks, a day could come shortly where zombies are running around and you need to find a safe place to be.
I'm hoping someone can actually get this situation controlled before this actually breaks out. There are plenty of people that say their excited for this and they can't wait. I personally I don't feel this way. I'd rather be prepared and never have to execute my plan.

Best Title I Could Come Up With: "What The Fuck?!"

Okay, so there are a lot of things in this world that make me go "What The Fuck?!" For instance the pending zombie apacolypse is one...but I'll shed more light on that later on. This is is for A.I.!
I personally believe that A.I. is one of the WORST ideas that anyone has ever had. Seriously, do we need more movies about this to show that it's a bad idea, or maybe a "reality" show about it. That will bring in more viewers I'm sure. I read an article somewhere on the web the other day where Google was working on A.I. and the set up three computers and let them run on youtube for three days watching a combined total of 10 million videos. The computers then stated to identify cats all on their own. This has led me to two conclusions, one, wow we're gonna be super fucked up the ass soon and two, there are far more vidoes on the internet of cats than there should be. It's appauling. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE animals, but no one should ever waste any amount of time searching for cat videos. I'm off topic.
What bought me to think about all of this was yesterday I was on my way to go see the movie Ted (I will be reviewing that next) and I saw a billboard that said "Robotic Surgery" now at *Enter Name of Hospital here.* And my mind went wild with ideas and scenarios in my mind.
I get that there are great uses for the technology that we have, but there is a limit to what we should do with it. I'm sure all of the people now working on these things were the super dorks that watched Saved By The Bell to see Screech's robot. I don't remember much about it was like five maybe when the show ended.
And now they are making real robots and giving search engines A.I. again, WE ARE ALL FUCKED NOW!

Live One Tree Hill Finale Blog...

As a lot of people know that tonight, April 4, 2012 is the series finale of the WB/CW's "One Tree Hill". I know I have blogged about this before, but before the show is over,  I feel that I need to express my sincere devotion and appreciation of this show. It really is an end of an era. In between commercials of this special two hour event, I'll be commenting, going over favorite parts of the series and parts of the show that I'll never forget. This show has touched many people out there, and I am one of them. There is something so special about the cast, the crazy story lines, the heart, the emotions of the characters and the amazing quality of acting these actors have given. Just a small recap for anyone that has never seen the show, it revolves around two half brothers from Tree Hill North Carolina, Lucas and Nathan Scott. Nathan was claimed by their father Dan, while Lucas wasn't and lives with his mother. Dan and Nathan live in a nice house and have tons of money. Lucas' best friend Haley James, who becomes Nathans wife, Peyton Sawyer starts out as Nathans girlfriend but in season six becomes Lucas' wife and Brooke Davis, Petyon's best friend and party girl, added to the cast after the pilot to add comedy to the show. Lucas and Nathan are constantly battling each other but in the end, end up being very close. Along the way, there is a lot of turmoil in these characters lives. If you have never seen it, watch it. You can even get the first eight seasons on Netflix watch instantly right now!

The last episode hasn't aired yet but there is an hour of behind the scenes with the making of the show and interviews with the cast and creator. I personally love the flashbacks, That is what is so amazing about the first part right now. They are showing great moments and talking about the decisions to make these episodes and moments and choices for the characters. I will never forget the night it premiered. As I mentioned in my last OTH blog, I didn't see a preview for the show until 15 mins before it premiered. It was almost as though there was a voice inside my head that said "You will love it!" Before this, I would watch tv from time to time, but I didn.'t LOVE many shows and never the way I loved this one. I'm SO glad I was home that night and watching tv. This is so special and I can't even find the words to express it. I wish I could. I wish I could find words to do the show justice to show how awesome it is. There is nothing like it on tv, I don't think I will ever love any one show as much as I love this one. I wish everyone would give it a try. There is something so great about how you feel and the way it can play on emotions of the fans and make them truly feel for these characters. I feel like the world could be a better place if everyone watched the show and got the messages that come across. Especially when the characters come right out and say that money, jobs and other things don't matter, because all the need to be happy is their loved ones. I've always thought that that is what life is all about. There are so many bad things in the world, but if people only concerned themselves with their loved ones and stopped harming each other. And yes, I think watching One Tree Hill could do this.

Finale starts in...10 seconds....

And the finale has started. This is definitely a sad sad sad day. This season has been one of the best they have ever had, I really hope that the finale lives up to the rest of the season. Let's see what happens...so far this isn't what I've expected but who knows...anything is possible.

Stuff that was awesome:

I knew it! I knew Brooke and Julian were gonna move back to the house she grew up in! I wondered a few years ago why she didnt try to purchase it the way she did her first house when she moved back in season five.

Gotta love how Haley told Jaime that "There is only One Tree Hill, and it's your home" just like Karen said to Lucas in season one. I also love that the tradition of making predictions on the top of Karen's Cafe is going to live on thru Jamie.

I'm glad Haley is signing Chris Keller. There were rare moments in season one and tow where you would see them together having a mature conversation.

Of Course, Gavin Degraw is on stage at Tric singing the theme song. Every time I hear that song I have this HUGE smile on my face b/c all I can think is ONE TREE HILL!

Gotta love that the new Tree Hill generation is throwing water balloons off of the roof at Karen's Cafe.

As the cast sings along with him for this song, and they said "I don't wanna be anyone other than me." all I can imagine ist hat they are thinking "I don't want to be anyone else in the world. This has been an amazing place to be. "

I also figured that they would end with Jamie as a teenager and playing basketball. He's a Scott, it's expected.

Now that all might seem like a crazy person wrote it, but I want to leave it as is. That was what I was seeing and thinking during the last moments of my beloved show. To be able to relive that moment over and over again and just let time stand still when I think of it. It was truly heart breaking to see all the actors at Tric singing along with Gavin Degraw, they just had "This is the end, and we're apart of it!" expressions on their faces.

I guess why it's so sad is I was able to relate to the characters and feel the same emotions. It also reminds me where I was in my life when the pilot aired. And now that part of my life is over, and now the show is over as well. If there was ever a project in this world I would love to be apart of, it would have been this one. I know that when Julian was making a movie with Alex, before they started shooting he said "Now let's go make someones favorite movie", I totally got that because I've always  wanted to work behind the scenes in television. My goal was to make someone's favorite tv show. When OTH came around, all I could think was wow, I would love to make a show that someone could watch and love as I have this one and feel this way. My friends think I'm nuts for having this much compassion for the show, but there are soo many special aspects of the show. For now this is all I'm going to say. Tomorrow I will write another blog about OTH but will be more about everything going on thru all nine seasons. So for now, all I can say is Thank You One Tree Hill cast and crew for the amazing gift you've given us!! I don't think a show will ever touch me this way again and I am so glad the show had such an amazing run!

If only I could unsee....

Supernatural used to be an amazing show all around. The characters were amazing, the acting was a little rocky in the beginning but eventually became absolutely fantastic and the plot lines we're interesting. However, only the first five years were planned out by Eric Kripke. After those five years, he left the show and it hasn't been the same since. If I could unsee something it would be Supernatural after the season five finale. I recommend a lot of shows to different people, but when I recommend Supernatural to people I tell them to pretend there is nothing after season five. And the finale works great as a series finale.
If you've never seen the show it's worth watching the first five seasons. The series revolves around Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) Winchester. They were born into the life of hunting the supernatural. When the show started out each episode was them running around the nation killing creatures, but slowly it started to have a thicker plot and from then on it was this fascinating story.
But now that Kripke is gone the show has gone to shit! It wasn't until the last few episodes that aired did it seem like the characters were back on track at all. Last season it seemed like there was no real plot lines. This year, the only idea they have had is to kill off the very few main characters the show has ever had. I'm guessing their trying to shock the audience, I really don't know. It's hard to even try to care. But I invested the time to watch the show for that long I have to see it through. It's like a chore every Friday night. I wish they would have cancelled it after season five. That way the show could go out with a bang. The saddest part is that people are now tuning into this show, and a lot of them haven't seen the previous seasons and that's such a shame. I just wish this abortion of a show would end! Keeping it around isn't doing the show or the actors any justice.

The Final Season....My appreciation, sadness, and excitement

If your a television junkie like me then you know that there is nothing worse than falling in love with a great show and then four or five seasons into the series it turns to the worst show ever! All too often this is what happens. As sad as it is to see a great show get cancelled or just end sometimes it's better for it to happen so the show can go out with a bang. There are two shows I love dearly and they had some awesome seasons and then the show shifted and either changed and sucked or just sucked because the writers used up all their good ideas. But today I'm focused on the one that is premiering it's finale season tonight.

I remember the night I saw the commercial for One Tree Hill. Somehow I had managed to not see it until about 15-20 minutes before the pilot premiered. From the first commercial I knew I was going to love the show. To be fair, I was a teenager when the show started now as an adult I had to continue watching even though I get a ton of shit from everyone I know. In my opinion, the last great season they had was season four. And yes by the time season five premiered it was well past the time for the characters to grow up but the show was never the same. It lost so much of it's magic and that is expected when a show jumps four years in the future. This is my go to show, I watch it all the time. If something in my life sucks, I'm sick at home, or I just want to feel that feeling again every time I see it. For me, it was more than a show. I know it sounds crazy, but there is something about the show that makes me smile like a child every time I go back and re watch season 1-4 which is often, I can quote the show all the way thru for those seasons and can tell you a specific convo or line and what episode it is from what song was playing etc. It just makes me happy. As someone who feels this strongly about the show, I am sad to see that 17 hours from now, the ninth season will be premiering. I almost wish it was put off for a long while because then there is hope to see my favorite show again sometime in a new episode. I know the actor are probably done to close this chapter of their life, but I will they got 10 full seasons. I mean Smallville got 10 seasons, why can't OTH? Oh well. I guess all I can hope is that season nine is amazing even though I'm not a fan of some of the characters that joined the show over the past few season, but who knows. 50 Years down the road, I'll be able to watch the show and smile from ear to ear and fell the excitement race thru my veins as I watch eagerly and feel the same magic I did when the show started when I was 16. Sometimes I wish I never loved tv so much or go wrapped up in shows like this.  But as Ellie once told Peyton, "Every song ends but is that any reason to not enjoy the music? OTH, Please don't disappoint this year!

NBC Giving Community the Axe?

It's a good possibility now that Community has been benched for the mid season. It's so sad to think that there won't be anymore Troy and Abed in the morning bits, no one telling Britta she is the worst, no fights leaving Jeff to give one of his famous speeches, we'll never hear Shirley talking about Jesus, Annie won't have another melt down and Pierce will never make another hilarious racist comment!!! NBC can't cancel Community! For those of you that haven't watched the show you should. Just start from the pilot and keep going from there. I'm gonna be totally honest with you, In the beginning I thought this show was terrible, but my boyfriend kept watching and I'd catch a few scenes here and there when passing thru the room he was in and I didn't understand why he watched the show. He insisted I give it a shot, so I did, and I'm so glad I did. The show is about seven entirely different people that make up a study group at Greendale Community college. They have have their ups and downs as any group of friends would but in the end their all there for each other when they need it. These misfits are hilarious and the only thing they have in common is that their all crazy in one way or another. Joel McHale plays Jeff , recently dis bared from practicing law, who is the groups leader, Abed played by Danny Pudi is a television obsessed guy that can't really relate to people socially, Troy played by Donald Glover is a recent high school graduate from a local school, ex classmate of his is also in the group, Annie played by Allison Brie, then there is the high school drop out and most annoying character to the rest, Britta played by Gillian Jacobs and then you have the late 30s African American very religious  divorced mother of two Shirley Yvette Nicole Brown and last but not the least the always racist old man, Pierce played very well by Chevy Chase. Although their all so different they find ways to come together and do great things. This is a must watch and must be kept on television series! I would like to hope that NBC will at least give them a fourth season so that the viewers can see the group graduate from college. I know the creator Dan Harmon absolutely adores this show as does the rest of the cast. It's only right they they get a full ending and get one more year (at least) of insanity together. If only NBC was like Abed, they'd give 'em six seasons and a movie! If all fans step up and speak out it is possible to be heard! We need to stick together and prove that the fans are still here and that we want Community to go on! A few years ago there was a show on CBS called "Jericho" and season one was awesome. It was cancelled so fans rallied together and sent in over nine tons of nuts (an inside joke from Jericho) to CBS to get another half season. Community fans could do that as a lost resort. Any ideas or if anyone has petitions or anything to save Community leave comments here for others to see. NBC PLEASE DON'T CANCEL COMMUNITY!!!

These Shows Need A Reunion Or Movie!

I was reading some articles online that were rumoring some shows from the 90's we're going to do a reunion, and all I could think was wow, that show was so bad why would anyone tune in for that? Then I started thinking about shows that were good enough for a reunion, but will probably never get one.

My first choice is Malcolm In The Middle. The show is about the Wilkerson family, complete with unruly boys Francis, (Christopher Kennedy Masterson) Malcolm (Frankie Muniz) Reese (Justin Berfield) and Dewey (Erik Per Sullivan) and crazy parents Hal (Bryan Cranston) and Lois (Jane Kaczmarek). These children wreck havoc on everyone and everything. They have pulled every stunt from ruining family  get together, to chasing off every babysitter they've ever had to pulled one over on teachers. No matter how old these boys get, their still pulling stunts and getting into trouble. I don't know where the writers came up with any of the material for this show, but this is a MUST see t.v. show!

If there was ever a show in history that had warning about the show ending and the writers decided that they would ruin the show with a terrible ending it's Gilmore Girls. This was a beloved show by many, they may not have had ABC's "Lost" ratings but the fans were definitely loyal and deserved better. A movie that doesn't suck is definitely in order. There has been a lot of requests and talk about it, and up until recently it was all fans talking about it, now there is a chance it may happen and it really should. This show revolves around fast talking Lorelai Gilmore and her elegant and exceptionally bright daughter Lorelai "Rory" Gilmore in the small town they live in, Stars Hollow. Lorelai had Rory when she was 16 and decided to move out of he very wealthy parents home in Hartford CT and move to Stars Hollow, which is filled with colorful and off beat characters. Lorelai had a complicated relationship with her parents, Emily (Kelly Bishop) and Richard Gilmore (Edward Herrmann). She was not into the rich scene and thought she could do better on her own. The story opens up with Rory getting accepted into Chilton, a very prestigious prep school that Lorelai can't afford as she runs the local inn, The Independence Inn. Lorelai has to make a deal with her parents that she only sees or speaks to on major holidays. In exchange for paying for Rory's school, Lorelai and Rory have to do Friday night dinners with her parents until the loan is paid off. Along the way, you see that Loreali and Rory are extremely close, their the best of friends and they do everything together. Luke Danes (Scott Patterson) is one of the characters in the town, he owns a diner he so uniquely called "Luke's" where the Gilmores drink tons of coffee and order more food than one person should eat in a week for breakfast. Luke is very obviously in love with Lorelai but will never say anything. Other great characters include Kirk, (Sean Gunn) who is basically the town idiot and means well but creeps most people out and he works at ever establishment in Stars Hollow, Sookie St James (Melissa McCarthy) is Loreali's best friend and the cook of the Independence Inn and later her business partner, Taylor Doose (Michael Winters) is the Stars Hollow Town Selectman and also the owner of the only grocery store in town. He also annoys everyone and is VERY anal about permits and rules of the town. Christopher Hayden is Rory's flaky father, his visits are few and far between but no matter what is going on in the girl's lives and (David Sutcliffe) how stable things are when he shows up disaster strikes. All of these characters are very quirky and their interactions are genius. The show is full of small town charm, comedy and heart. Every episode is jammed packed with information due to the very fast dialogue. The ending wrapped things up but it was rushed writing and a huge let down to fans, especially those that had been watching from the pilot. So here's hoping a movie will actually be made!
